Lester’s Sunrises

Nova Scotia Frost
Hello Park Goers,
How are your pups surviving these oh so very Canadian days we have been experiencing? In our home ‘wind chill’ is a four letter word that sends our pups running. When it comes to morning ‘business’, trying to get Winston out the deck door is like trying to get a cat into…well, anything. When we wake up to ice covered windows, our pups turn right around and head back upstairs insisting they can ‘hold it’ until July. But for other pups, the same icy morning greeting stirs a “Bring it ON!” attitude. Lester is one of these.
Lester is a Springer Spaniel who has been a regular at PPP since he was a wee little pup, and he has yet to meet a temperature that he did not like.

Lester Math: 6am + Windchil of -25 = Let’s go to the park!!
Every morning before work (when the Fox household is still fast asleep) Lester and his Mom, Kirsten Robertson, head out to PPP. I am going to be perfectly honest here. Unlike Trent or Kirsten, I have never actually seen a PPP sunrise. I have definitely been there for the ‘sets’ but the ‘rises’ do not compute with my internal clock. I thought I would share a few of Lester and Kirsten’s morning trips with you. Enjoy!

Beautiful … Magical …
Speaking of Springers and the winter… I’ve seen a couple pictures in here of dogs happily rolling in the snow.
This is something bronson likes to do…especially if he has his winter coat on. He’s learned that he can usually undo the velcro fastener if he trashes around hard enough.
Earlier in the week we noticed that his right eye was weeping a thickish yellow goo.
Took him to the vet and sure enough it was infected. First thing the vet asked was if he liked to rub his face in the snow. Seems he irritated his eye and it became infected. This habit of his cost us about $150.00 for the exam.. dye test to see if he scratched his eye and the weeks worth of drops…applied 2 at a time..4 times a day. You can imagine how much he fights that.
